Dates and sessions
Cambridge Oktoberfest returned to Jesus Green for its 10th anniversary on Friday 25 and Saturday 26 September 2026, with a large Bavarian-style tent, German beer and food, and three ticketed sessions. The 2026 edition is now over; the details below record how it ran and are a guide to what to expect next year. Check the official site for 2027 dates and prices. Entry is from Victoria Avenue, and the LoveToVisit listing puts the tent's capacity at 2,000 people.
- Friday 25 September, 17:00-23:00
- Saturday 26 September, 11:00-16:30 (afternoon)
- Saturday 26 September, 17:30-23:00 (evening)
Saturday afternoon and evening are separate ticketed sessions. Tickets are valid for the full session they are booked for. Popular sessions can sell out, so the organiser recommends booking online. Tickets on the door are sold only if a session still has space.
Where it happens
Jesus Green lies north of the city centre, between Jesus College to the south and the River Cam loop to the north. For Oktoberfest, entry is listed from Victoria Avenue. The site is a short walk from the centre. LoveToVisit reports that the organiser recommends the train or a bus for the journey home. The LoveToVisit listing gives the park address as Jesus Lane, Cambridge CB5 8BL.
Inside the tent
Oktoberfest began in Munich in 1810 with a royal wedding. The Cambridge version keeps the essentials: long shared tables, Bavarian FestBeer, German food and a live band, with table service for the reserved packages.
The official FAQ lists Bavarian beer, cider, wine and soft drinks, with Brezel, Bratwurst, Schnitzel and vegetarian options to eat. Several packages add a shot of Underberg, the German herbal digestif. Beer comes by the Mass, which the tickets page lists as 1.5 pint. You pay at the bars or take what your package includes. Outside food and drink are not allowed, and the organiser's terms say tap water is available on request.
Where you sit depends on the ticket. General Admission comes with an unreserved seat and the Bavarian ticket with a seat in the Bavarian area. Oktoberfest, VIP and Corporate tickets include reserved group seating. To sit together, book under the same name and in the same ticket category. If friends have already booked separately, email the team with the booking IDs.
Tickets and prices
Prices below are the 2026 prices from the official tickets page, checked 15 September 2026. Expect them to change for the next edition.

| Bavarian | £35 | Seat in the Bavarian area, 1 Mass FestBeer, bratwurst in bread, 1 Underberg shot |

Reserved sections fill from the front, so the earlier you book, the better the table. Companies booking for a team or clients have a separate corporate page, where a Tyrolean clothing add-on is offered at £80.
Good to know before you book
- 18+ only. Bring photo ID. Children and dogs are not permitted.
- Bring the e-ticket. Show it on a phone or bring a printout, and check the session time before travelling.
- Card payments, no Amex. All major cards are accepted except American Express. There is no ATM in the tent.
- Cloakroom. £5 per item. Do not leave laptops or other electronics there.
- No outside food or drink. Everything is sold inside, and tap water is available on request.
- No dress code. Lederhosen and Dirndl are not required. The official site links to a costume shop for anyone who wants to dress up.
Which session to pick
Friday is the opening session and starts at 17:00, which fits an after-work plan with colleagues. Saturday afternoon is the only session with student tickets, and it finishes at 16:30, leaving the evening free. Saturday evening closes the weekend and suits anyone who wants a full night out.
For a group, one person booking every ticket in one category is the simplest way to end up at the same table.
Why we highlight it
Jesus Green in late September is one of the easier autumn socials in Cambridge: central, walkable, contained in a single tent, and finished by 23:00. For members and newcomers it works as a low-effort way to meet people outside talks and labs, without a trip to London or Munich.
More in the calendar: the Cambridge Film Festival, the Cambridge Festival and Cambridge Wide Open Week. To meet other members, join our Saturday meetup.
