Cambridge race calendar, winter and spring 2027

Cross-country, the Cambridge Half Marathon, local 10Ks and a few events further afield, with dates only where an organiser has confirmed them.

The winter and spring racing season around Cambridge runs from cross-country in November to road races in March and April, with summer series and bigger events further afield after that. This calendar covers November 2026 to June 2027. Every date below comes from the organiser’s own page or the Cambridge & Coleridge Athletic Club calendar, checked on 20 October 2026.

Where an organiser has not published 2027 details, we say "dates TBC - check organiser" rather than assume last year’s date will repeat. Entry rules, start times and prices belong to the organisers and can change.

At a glance

Cross-country, November to March

Cross-country is the winter backbone of local club running: laps of fields and parkland, usually muddy, with team scoring. The main local fixture list is the Frostbite Friendly League. According to the Cambridge & Coleridge calendar, the 2026/27 league has these remaining races, all on Sundays, with senior races at 10:30 and junior races at 9:45:

• Sunday 1 November 2026: Nene Park, Peterborough.
• Sunday 6 December 2026: Ben’s Yard, Ely.
• Sunday 17 January 2027: Elm Road Sports Field, March.
• Sunday 7 February 2027: Bawsey Country Park, King’s Lynn.
• Sunday 7 March 2027: Jubilee Park, Huntingdon.

The calendar describes the Frostbite league as a closed league for member clubs, so it is not an open race you can simply enter. A club post from the 2025/26 season describes it as a series of 5-mile trail races over the winter for clubs in and around Cambridgeshire, with a shorter junior race. Road races, March and April

Cambridge Half Marathon. The official Cambridge Half Marathon website gives the date as Sunday 14 March 2027 and offers pre-registration. Some third-party listings show a different date, 7 March; we have followed the official site. Entry arrangements are on that site.

Cambridge Cambourne 10K & Fun Run. The Cambridge & Coleridge event page gives Sunday 11 April 2027 at Cambourne Business Park, CB23 6DW. The 2027 edition adds a new 5k course; there is also a fun run of about one mile, and the 10K is for ages 15 and over. The terrain is mixed, including trail. The start time for 2027 has not been confirmed; the 2026 edition started at 9:30, so check before you plan. Entries are handled through ATW Events.

Cambridge Biomedical Campus 10K. The organiser’s entry page lists the 2026 edition on 19 April 2026. A 2027 date has not been confirmed: dates TBC - check organiser.

A new 5k, the Shelford 5k, appears in Cambridge & Coleridge’s news, but we could not confirm a date, so it is not in the table.

Looking ahead to the summer

The Summer 5K Series runs from April to September between eight clubs: Cambridge & Coleridge, Cambridge Triathlon Club, Ely Running Club, Haverhill Running Club, Newmarket Joggers, Saffron Striders, Histon & Impington Runners and Royston Running Club. Individual 2027 fixtures are dates TBC - check organiser. It is aimed at club members, so it is another reason to find a club in the autumn.

Further afield

These events are outside Cambridge but within reach of someone based in the city:

• Cambridgeshire County Cross Country Championships: Sunday 13 December 2026, 10:00, Priory Park, St Neots, according to the club calendar.
• Eastern Cross Country Championships: Sunday 15 November 2026 at Horseheath, near Haverhill, per the same calendar.
• Cambridgeshire “Not The Cambridge Half”: Sunday 14 March 2027 at Grafham Water, Marlow Car Park, PE28 0BH, with a 07:00 start according to the Phoenix Running event page. It runs on the same day as the Cambridge Half Marathon.
• Supertri Blenheim Palace: 5–6 June 2027 at Woodstock, Oxfordshire, a weekend of triathlon, listed on the Supertri event page.

Planning your season

• Decide which month you want to race and work back; the Cambridge Half Marathon and Cambourne 10K are four weeks apart.
• Check each organiser’s page for entry opening dates; we have not listed any because we could not confirm them.
• If a date reads TBC, check again in the new year rather than relying on a past edition.
• For winter evening training, take a head torch and hi-vis.
